It’s official. fromis_9 will finally be back! As we eagerly await the group’s next single album “Supersonic” on August 12, let’s go over the most amusing variety show appearances the girls have made this year! From cooking show to radio interview, each piece of content had something unique and entertaining to offer. Jiwon and Chaeyoung crowned themselves the variety stars of fromis, racking up the most appearances of the group. KebyKe Restaurant with Jiwon and Jiheon
In this episode of KebyKe Restaurant, where Kep1er members Xiaoting, Mashiro and Chaehyun cook for famous guests, Jiwon and Jiheon are treated to delicious meals while teasing the three chefs. The main appeal of the episode is our girls’ interactions with Mashiro, revealed to be a huge flover. Recounting their experience of fromis_9’s “FROM NOW.”, Mashiro and Chaehyun sparked off engaging reactions from Jiwon and Jiheon who felt both shy and touched by the love they received throughout the episode.
Chuu and Miyeon’s Thailand Vlogs with Jiwon
These two travel vlogs have just a little bit of Jiwon, but showcase a rare side of her that is seldom seen. It’s worth watching for this reason alone. Together with two of her close friends, Chuu and Miyeon, Jiwon behaves differently, and in the vlogs, we see a very well-planned Jiwon with her spontaneous friends relying on her.
Inssadong Sulzzi with Hayoung, Chaeyoung and Jiheon
Inssadong Sulzzi, Lee Chaeyeon’s low alcohol talk show, is packed with funny conversations, especially between Chaeyeon and Chaeyoung. Hayoung was adorable, being treated as the fake maknae, and Jiheon kept it real with her straightforward answers while munching her way through the show. The four of them briefly reminisce about their time under Off The Record Entertainment, and their visit to an animal shelter. Chaeyeon and Chaeyoung have even further history, reminiscing about the JYP trainee days! The girls also proved how honest they are by instantly winning some bingsu in the lie detector game.
Hanwha Life Esports with Chaeyoung
Chaeyoung’s first MC role in a YouTube series, Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), sees our variety queen interview people on the street and play games at an actual PC bang (computer shop) with others. The episode where she met the main team of Hanwha Life Esports stands out as a significant moment for the subset of flover and League of Legends (LoL) fans. Her hosting is commendable throughout, making for an entertaining series.
In HLE’s latest episode, fromis_9’s resident gamer Nagyung visits Chaeyoung and shows off her knowledge about LoL and the players of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK). Chaeyoung reveals that Nagyung kept saying that she should’ve been the one chosen to do the show. While Nagyung teasingly expresses her desire on the show and Chaeyoung listens nervously, the HLE staff edits the clip and shows their loyalty to their MC by saying, “We only have Chaeyoung.”
I Am DongBaek – Wanna Come Here? with Jiwon and Chaeyoung
This idol counseling episode hosted by Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Donghae guarantees entertainment with the Jiwon and Chaeyoung variety duo. They discuss idol life calmly and realistically, with a mix of funny stories in between. Notable moments in the episode include Chaeyoung revealing that fromis_9 views Super Junior as their idol group reference, Jiwon deciding to retire her “girlfriend concept” aegyo, and Chaeyoung’s member parodies.
Is This Song Popular? with Jiwon and Chaeyoung
Is This Song Popular? sees Korean YouTuber Mimiminu learning how to sing K-pop songs from the original singer. In this episode, Jiwon and Chaeyoung are tasked with teaching the host how to sing “DM,” and show fantastic chemistry as they bounce off each other’s jokes throughout the vocal lesson. Highlights include ‘pancreas-singing’ (as opposed to head voice singing), Jiwon’s hilarious expressions, their laughter at Mimiminu’s antics, and the playful banter between Jiwon and Chaeyoung about each other’s impressions.
British College Students get SHY in front of K-POP Girl Group fromis_9!! with Hayoung, Jiwon, Jisun and Nagyung
Last week, Korean Englishman suddenly released a video which sees fromis_9 teaching the guys how to dance “#menow.” The British students couldn’t have chosen a better group, meeting Korean soldiers’ favorite group after having just joined the Korean military. As the Brits hilariously struggle with the choreo, we’re shown the girls’ supportive (and less supportive) sides. After the dance practice, everyone has a meal in the cafeteria and the two groups discuss their favorite soccer teams, foods and the girls open up about their life paths.
POP OUT RADIO with Jiwon and Seoyeon
This podcast-radio interview hosted by pH-1 stands as one of fromis_9’s best radio appearances to date, brimming with insights and candid discussions. They delve into song production, Seoyeon’s and Jiwon’s aspirations and feelings about their career, reminisce about humorous and viral moments from their individual internet search results, and reflect on their childhood dreams of becoming idols/singers. They also discuss their preferences—what Seoyeon and Jiwon appreciate in each others’ songs and what they focus on when producing their own. Deep talk aside, the conversation is lighthearted, with plenty of giggles sprinkled throughout.
